Softball Recap: Lamar Takes a Loss

If Lamar was feeling good fresh off their 22-1 takedown of Great Falls last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Silver Fox came up short against the Dillon Wildcats on Thursday, falling 11-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Silver Fox of the 6-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2021.

Lamar saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Guinn, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was Guinn's first of the season.

Lamar's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Dillon, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lamar will square off against Virtus Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Dillon, they will challenge Loris at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season.
