Football Recap: Shadow Creek Sharks vs. King Panthers
Shadow Creek and King squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Shadow Creek had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 51-6 loss at the hands of the Panthers. The Sharks were red-hot offensively heading into the game (they scored no less than 31 points in the three contests prior), but the Panthers' defense proved too tough.
Tavis Coleman threw for 146 yards and one TD. Chris Stewart was his top target, picking up 38 receiving yards. On the ground, Jacier Pace rushed for 40 yards.
King had a senior duo take command as Dionne Sims gained 190 total yards and two touchdowns and Timothy Potts threw for 255 yards and four touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes. Sims' longest rush was for an incredible 96 yards. King's leading receiver Lejerric Clark was Potts' top target yet again, picking up 123 receiving yards and one score.
Shadow Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for King, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-2.
Shadow Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for King, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 52-0 victory against Jordan on the 28th.
