Baseball Recap: Machias Comes Up Short

Machias lost against Narraguagus last Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Bulldogs fell 9-4 to the Knights. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Machias saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Webster Case, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Those RBI were Case's first of the season. Another was Lucas Robicheau, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Machias' defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Narraguagus, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 9-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Machias will challenge Bangor Christian at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots' pitching crew has only allowed one run per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Narraguagus, they are taking a road trip to take on Washington Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 9.7 runs per game this season.
