Basketball Game Preview: St. John's Pioneers vs. Malden Catholic Lancers

St. John hasn't had much luck against Malden Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The St. John's Pioneers will host the Malden Catholic Lancers at 6:30 p.m.

Last Tuesday, St. John's came up short against Boston College High and fell 54-43.

Meanwhile, Malden Catholic put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They secured a 65-61 W over Xaverian Brothers. The 65-point effort marked the Lancers' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Malden Catholic's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for St. John's, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

St. John's came up short against Malden Catholic when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 53-44. Can St. John's avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
