Baseball Game Preview: St. Anne Cardinals vs. Cissna Park Timberwolves

The St. Anne Cardinals will challenge the Cissna Park Timberwolves at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when St. Anne faced off against Herscher on Tuesday. St. Anne lost 10-1 to Herscher. The loss was the Cardinals' first of the season.

St. Anne saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter Ponton, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Cissna Park had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against Fisher on Monday, falling 15-5. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Having lost for the first time this season, St. Anne fell to 3-1. As for Cissna Park, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-1.

Everything went St. Anne's way against Cissna Park in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as St. Anne made off with a 15-1 victory. Will St. Anne repeat their success, or does Cissna Park has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
