Goose Creek's game on Wednesday was close up to the half, but then they kicked things up a notch. They really took it to the Burke Bulldogs for the full four quarters, racking up a 60-32 victory. The Gators have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 21 points or more this season.

When it comes to explaining why Burke lost, don't look at Nathaya Phoenix. Despite the final result, she posted eight points in addition to eight boards and five blocks. Phoenix is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last three games she's played.

The win made it two in a row for Goose Creek and bumps their season record up to 10-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points over those games. As for Burke, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-5.

Goose Creek and Ashley Ridge will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Gators will be up against the Swamp Foxes' rather soft defense (which has allowed 56.5 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Burke and Happy Valley will round out the year against one another at 10:30 a.m. on the 27th.
