Football Game Preview: Parkland Trojans vs. Stroudsburg Mountaineers

Parkland has gone a perfect 4-0 against Stroudsburg recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Trojans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mountaineers at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Parkland's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last eight games.

Parkland gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on Emmaus with a sharp 34-13 win. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while the Hornets are ranked 205th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tj Lawrence continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 126 yards and three scores on only 15 carries. He has been hot, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last six times he's played.

Meanwhile, Stroudsburg unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pleasant Valley. Having soared to a lofty 45 points in the game before, the Mountaineers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Stroudsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Parkland, their record is now 10-0.

Everything came up roses for Parkland against Stroudsburg in their previous matchup back in November of 2019, as the squad secured a 35-7 victory. In that contest, the Trojans amassed a halftime lead of 35-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
