Baseball Recap: Mountain View Victorious

Mountain View's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 win over the Tunkhannock Tigers. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered an 8-6 loss the last time these two teams met.

Mountain View let Tanner Holtsmaster and Ziggy Bradford run wild. Holtsmaster went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Bradford went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. Those two runs gave Holtsmaster a new career-high.

Mountain View is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Tunkhannock, they dropped their record down to 0-10 with the defeat, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain View will challenge Blue Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tunkhannock, they will take on Hanover Area at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers are facing the Hawkeyes at the right time seeing as the Hawkeyes are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
