Softball Recap: Greenville Lakers vs. Penquis Valley Patriots

Greenville had lost four straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 0-6 to make it five. They lost 19-0 to the Penquis Valley Patriots. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lakers of the 15-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

Penquis Valley's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. With that win, they brought their scoring average up to 7.2 runs per game.

For Penquis Valley's part, Makayla Cook was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
