Softball Recap: Gray Stone Day Takes a Loss

Gray Stone Day lost against Montgomery Central back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Gray Stone Day Knights lost 15-9 to the Montgomery Central Timberwolves. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cheyenne Efird was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Lynley Pittman was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Even though they lost, Gray Stone Day was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .320 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Gray Stone Day's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Montgomery Central, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gray Stone Day will host Mountain Island Charter at 6:00 p.m. on March 12th. As for Montgomery Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Randleman at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
