Basketball Game Preview: Collinsville Kahoks vs. Centralia Orphans

Having just played yesterday, the Collinsville Kahoks will head out on the road to face off against the Centralia Orphans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Centralia took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Collinsville, who comes in off a win.

Collinsville can't be too worried about heading out to take on Centralia: they just beat Father McGivney Catholic at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Collinsville snuck past Father McGivney Catholic with a 48-44 win on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Centralia ended up a good deal behind Mt. Vernon on Monday and lost 56-38. While losing is never fun, the Orphans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while the Rams are ranked 24th).

Collinsville is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-13 record this season. As for Centralia, they now have a losing record at 11-12.

Collinsville came up short against Centralia in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 54-46. Can Collinsville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
