Basketball Recap: Rutland Comes Up Short

Rutland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They took a 50-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pike County Pirates. If the Hurricanes were looking for revenge after losing 50-45 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Pike County was led to victory by Kerrah Foster and Sadie Lewis. Foster posted 21 points, while Lewis put up 12 points and six assists. That's the most assists Lewis has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Maliyah Holmes, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 19 rebounds.

Rutland's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Pike County, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 7-6.

Rutland has already played their next matchup (against Jackson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Pike County has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Callaway.
