Baseball Recap: Boyd-Buchanan Sets Scoring Season-High Against Morristown-Hamblen East

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Boyd-Buchanan). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Morristown-Hamblen East Hurricanes a 10-0 shutout on Saturday. The Buccaneers not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 20, 2024.

Carter Hinsley tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Caden Henry was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aaron Hise, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI.

Boyd-Buchanan hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Morristown-Hamblen East struck out 12 times.

Boyd-Buchanan's victory bumped their record up to 5-10-1. As for Morristown-Hamblen East, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16-1 record this season.

Boyd-Buchanan will square off against Knox Central at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday. As for Morristown-Hamblen East, they will take on Cocke County in a tournament on Saturday.
