Softball Recap: Markesan Gets the Win

Markesan's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Manitowoc Lutheran Lancers 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hornets have posted since May 5th.

Brianna Boelter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kaylee Heberer, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.

Markesan pushed their record up to 10-13 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Manitowoc Lutheran, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Markesan nor Manitowoc Lutheran have any future games scheduled.
