Baseball Recap: Forrest County Agricultural Sets Scoring Season-High Against Gautier

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Forrest County Agricultural). They blew past the Gautier Gators 13-1 on Tuesday. With that victory, the Aggies brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Landyn Anderson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Forrest County Agricultural is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Anderson was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ethan Norman, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Kamren Baxter, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Forrest County Agricultural moved to 7-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Gautier, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Forrest County Agricultural will take on Citronelle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Gautier, they will host Resurrection Catholic at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
