Gonzaga seeks to keep rolling to first Washington Catholic Athletic Conference title since 2002.
Video: Top 10 Games of the Week(10) Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.) at Our Lady of Good Counsel (Olney, Md.)
Friday, 7 p.m. Eastern timeWhy it's big: Gonzaga soared into this week's Xcellent 25 and landed at No. 10 after taking down then-No. 3 DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.) last week, 24-14. But to stick around in the national polls, the Eagles must avoid a letdown on the road Friday night against a talented Good Counsel squad.
Gonzaga (7-0) ended a four-game losing streak against DeMatha and took sole possession of first place in the Washington Catholic Athletic Association. The Eagles haven't won the WCAC title since 2002.
Good Counsel (5-2) has won three straight and could still factor into the title hunt if it beats Gonzaga again. The Falcons own a 9-1 advantage in this series since 2007.
Names to watch: Junior
Tyree Randolph, Gonzaga's elusive 5-foot-7, 171-pound junior tailback, ran for 187 yards and two touchdowns in last week's win over DeMatha.
Randolph's jitterbug running style will make for an interesting individual matchup on the edge against Good Counsel's rangy 6-foot-3 senior outside linebacker
Keandre Jones. The four-star Maryland recruit averages over 10 tackles per game.
