Volleyball Recap: John F. Kennedy Starts off Right with Win over Brackenridge

John F. Kennedy had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Brackenridge Eagles 3-0 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Rockets in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.

While John F. Kennedy won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-16, 25-19.

Makalya Aragon had an outrageously good game as she had 18 digs and four aces. Genesis Hernandez was another key player, getting ten assists and six digs.

They weren't the only good server: John F. Kennedy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Despite the loss, Brackenridge still got an impressive performance from Mya Alfaro, who had 13 digs and one assist.

John F. Kennedy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Burbank on the 14th. As for Brackenridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against South San Antonio on the 15th.
