Football Recap: Dwyer Takes a Loss

Dwyer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Palm Beach Central Broncos, falling 30-6. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Broncos apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Palm Beach Central found their leader in sophomore KAYLEE WOOD, who threw for 223 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes, and also rushed for 41 yards and one touchdown. WOOD didn't just play on offense: she also made four total tackles and defended two passes in addition to snagging an interception. CIARA FRANCOIS was another key player, rushing for 52 yards and one touchdown on only five carries.

Dwyer's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Palm Beach Central, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

When Dwyer and Palm Beach Central next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Dwyer will try to stop Palm Beach Gardens' four-game winning streak when they meet at 7:15 p.m. on March 20th. Meanwhile, Palm Beach Central will square off against Park Vista and their three-game winning streak at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
