Baseball Game Preview: Holy Family Tigers vs. University Bulldogs

The Holy Family Tigers will take on the University Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Holy Family is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.

It was a proper cat-fight when Holy Family challenged The Academy on Monday. Holy Family blew past The Academy 9-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Holy Family got a great performance from Joshua Grenzenbach as he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance gave Grenzenbach a new career-high in strikeouts.

On the hitting side, Kaden Hopkin was a standout: he scored three runs while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Jones, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Holy Family always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as The Academy only posted an OBP of .321.

Meanwhile, University unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of Colorado Academy by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday.

University saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gage Viken, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Holy Family pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for University, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-1.
