Baseball Recap: McDowell Comes Up Short

McDowell came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the South Caldwell Spartans, falling 10-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-0 back in March.

McDowell saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Blanton, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

McDowell's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for South Caldwell, their victory bumped their record up to 12-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. McDowell will square off against Draughn at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Titans are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for South Caldwell, they will take on Shelby in a tournament on Monday.
