Kenton Playko commits to Northwestern football

Playko is second Olentangy player to make commitment from Class of 2012.

Olentangy (Lewis Center) offensive tackle Kenton Playko verbally committed to play for Northwestern University last Saturday.

A 6-6, 270-pounder, Playko chose Northwestern over a list of schools that included Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Indiana, Miami University and West Virginia according to ThisWeekSPORTS.com.

Playko is the second player from the 2012 recruiting class for the Braves to make his college choice. Linebacker Joshua Perry verbally committed to Ohio State last June.

Kyle Dodson, a 6-6, 310-pound junior tackle from Cleveland Heights, recently received Division I scholarship offers from Cincinnati, Iowa State, Marshall, Ohio University and South Florida, according to ScoutingOhio.com. Also according to the website, St. Ignatius (Cleveland) tight end Blake Thomas has been offered a scholarship by Louisville. He previously was offered by Boston College, Cincinnati, Ohio U. and Toledo. … Two of the top 2012 recruits from central Ohio are wide receivers Frank Epitropoulos from Upper Arlington (Columbus) and Cameron Wilson from Dublin Jerome (Dublin). Epitropoulos recently was offered by both Ohio State and Stanford, while Wilson recently was offered by Iowa according to ScoutingOhio.com.
