Preview: Seminole Ridge Hawks vs. Wellington Wolverines
Seminole Ridge has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Wellington Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Seminole Ridge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 686th, while Wellington is ranked 57th).
Seminole Ridge suffered their biggest defeat since November 24, 2023 on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 61-28 loss at the hands of Palm Beach Central.
The losing side was boosted by Calvin Warren, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Giancarlos Romero, who scored four points.
Seminole Ridge struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Wellington beat Palm Beach Central 52-40 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Wellington.
Seminole Ridge bumped their record down to 2-16 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Wellington, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which somehow isn't as good as their 15-4 record this season.
Seminole Ridge was dealt a bruising 66-16 defeat at the hands of Wellington when the teams last played back in November of 2023. Can Seminole Ridge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
