Recap: King's Academy Knights vs. The Nueva School Mavericks
The King's Academy Knights scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They claimed a resounding 80-42 victory over The Nueva School on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win King's Academy has managed all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead King's Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bryce Sherman, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Hughey, who scored 15 points.
When it comes to explaining why The Nueva School lost, one person who can't be blamed is Gabe Ciechanover. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Jackson Lee, who scored seven points.
The victory (which was King's Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 6-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for The Nueva School, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
King's Academy will head out on the road to face off against Santa Clara at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Santa Clara will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 524th, while King's Academy is ranked 144th). As for The Nueva School, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against University Prep Academy at 7:00 p.m.
