Basketball Game Preview: St. Edmond Gaels vs. Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS

The St. Edmond Gaels will take on Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in St. Edmond's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matchups.

St. Edmond will bounce into Friday's game after beating Iowa Falls-Alden, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. St. Edmond came out on top against Iowa Falls-Alden by a score of 73-60 on Tuesday. Given the Gaels' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 44th, while the Cadets are ranked 142nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 65-56 to Humboldt.

St. Edmond's win bumped their record up to 13-2. As for Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
