            Baseball Recap: Fairfield Knights vs. Biglerville Canners        
        
		
        
        
            Fairfield had lost six straight at home, but  on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 3-14-1 to make it seven. They came up short against  the Biglerville Canners, falling  8-2. That's two games in a row now that the Knights have lost by  exactly six  runs.
 Fairfield saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Jacob Liller, who  went 1-for-3 with one  RBI.
As for Biglerville, their victory bumped their record up to 6-9. Considering they have won five matches by more than five  runs this season, Tuesday's  blowout was nothing new.
On Biglerville's side,  Parker Black made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he  tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   four  hits. What's more,  Black posted three  strikeouts, the most he's  had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going 3-for-5 with one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Gavin Althoff and  Jared Hollabaugh did most of the damage at the plate:  Althoff  got on base  in four of his five plate appearances with three  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI, while  Hollabaugh  got on base  in four of his five plate appearances with three  RBI, one  run,  and one  double. Those  three  runs gave  Althoff a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Brayden Pearce, who  went 4-for-5 with two  doubles.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairfield will challenge York County Tech at 4:15  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Spartans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.13  runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Biglerville, they will square off against Hanover at 4:15  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Nighthawks will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  runs each  game than the last.
