The St. Charles North North Stars are taking a road trip to face off against the Sycamore Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sycamore took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on St. Charles North, who comes in off a win.
St. Charles North took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They came out on top against South Elgin by a score of 9-4.

Keaton Reinke made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. He has become a key player for St. Charles North: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one hit, but 1-2 otherwise. Reinke was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game.
In other pitching news, Reed Raczka looked comfortable as he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Henry Grimm was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. That stolen base was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Auer, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Sycamore might've scored the first runs on Tuesday, but it was Harlem who claimed the real prize. The Spartans fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 5-3.
Sycamore also got a good showing from Devin Shaulis, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.
At the plate, Sycamore saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Macdonald, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
St. Charles North has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Sycamore, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
St. Charles North's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's game. The North Stars have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Sycamore, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will St. Charles North continue to outrun the ball?
