Volleyball Recap: Briana Gamble Key Part of Team Effort in Monarchs Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Atlantic Collegiate Academy, Manning was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They skirted past the Marion Swamp Foxes 3-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 back in September.

Manning was dominant in they sets they won, taking each by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 16-25, 25-14, 23-25, 15-2.

Manning's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Briana Gamble, who had seven aces. Those seven aces gave Gamble a new career-high. Danielle Palmer was another key player, getting six kills and five aces.

Manning has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season. As for Marion, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Manning is set to challenge their familiar foe Lake City at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Marion will square off against rival East Clarendon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
