Basketball Game Preview: Morgantown Mohigans vs. Nitro Wildcats

The Morgantown Mohigans will head out on the road to square off against the Nitro Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.

Morgantown will head out to face Nitro after giving up their first home loss of the season on Saturday. Morgantown took a 48-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Spring Valley. The contest marked the Mohigans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Nitro faced Wheeling Park in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Nitro walked away with a 68-57 win over Wheeling Park. The victory was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on three straight.

Nitro's win came from a few key players Morgantown will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Natalie Smith, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds. That's the most boards she has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mika Adams, who went 6-for-9 on her way to 18 points.

Nitro pushed their record up to 15-3 with the win, which was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points over those games. As for Morgantown, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-3.
