Softball Recap: St. Francis Comes Up Short

St. Francis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Buckley Bears. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Gladiators have suffered since June 8, 2024.

St. Francis' loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Buckley, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Looking ahead, Buckley will face off against Reed City at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday. St. Francis will be paying especially close attention to the Bears' contest: after the Bears face off against the Coyotes, they'll take on St. Francis again at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday.
