Caverna hasn't had much luck against Adair County recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Colonels will be playing at home against the Indians at 5:30 p.m. Caverna is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, Caverna didn't have quite enough to beat Metcalfe County and fell 4-3.

Adreana Salvador put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Salvador wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Dallia Wood, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, Adair County was able to grind out a solid victory over Green County on Tuesday, taking the game 5-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.
Keylin Bergin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits.
At the plate, Jazalynn Young was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Allee Campbell, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Adair County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 6-2 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Adair County's win bumped their record up to 12-13. As for Caverna, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-15.
