Soccer Game Preview: Woodmont vs. Easley

The Woodmont Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Easley Green Wave at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Woodmont has given up an average of 2.8 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Woodmont had taken Greenwood down for four straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. Woodmont came up short against Greenwood, falling 8-0. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Easley kept a clean sheet against Pickens on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Blue Flame as they made off with a 5-0 win. It was an even better day for Yulizza Maximo-Hayes as she scored three goals for her team.

The victory made it two in a row for Easley and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored seven goals over those two matchups. As for Woodmont, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Woodmont beat Easley 2-0 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Woodmont since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
