Volleyball Recap: Athens Warriors vs. Mt. Pulaski Hilltoppers
Athens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mt. Pulaski Hilltoppers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hilltoppers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in September.
Lydia Hart paced Athens' offense, picking up eight kills. Hart got some help from Arabelle Cunningham and her 17 assists.
Alyson Murphy had a dynamite game For Mt. Pulaski., getting five digs and five aces. Those five aces gave Murphy a new career-high.
Athens' loss dropped their record down to 25-7. As for Mt. Pulaski, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-10.
Athens wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against St. Thomas More on the 18th. As for Mt. Pulaski, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against LeRoy on the 18th.
