Basketball Preview: Berrien Springs Shamrocks vs. Constantine Falcons
Berrien Springs has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Constantine Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Berrien Springs is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Falcons in Michigan (the Shamrocks are ranked 170th, while the Falcons are ranked 639th).
On Saturday, Berrien Springs narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Rangers 40-38.
Meanwhile, Constantine's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight defeat. They took a 57-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Coloma.
Berrien Springs pushed their record up to 10-5 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Constantine, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.
Everything came up roses for Berrien Springs against the Falcons when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 52-25 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Berrien Springs since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
