Softball Recap: China Spring Cougars vs. Connally Cadets
China Spring can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They skirted past the Connally Cadets 7-5. The victory was just what China Spring needed coming off of a 16-0 defeat in their prior match.
Keri Green spent all seven innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits.
At the plate, Taryn Crouch was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Abbigail Chacon, who went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI.
China Spring's win bumped their record up to 8-15. As for Connally, they dropped their record down to 1-13 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
China Spring will have a chance to go back-to-back against Connally: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
