Basketball Recap: Plainfield East Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Plainfield East and Benet Academy squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Plainfield East had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Benet Academy Redwings, falling 70-22. The Bengals haven't had much luck with the Redwings recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Emma Rodgers was Plainfield East's leading scorer, having posted four points. Valeria Ramos took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Plainfield East's loss dropped their record down to 5-26. As for Benet Academy, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 27-2.

Plainfield East does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Benet Academy, they will square off against Naperville North at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Benet Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Naperville North likes a good challenge.
