The Christian Patriots will face off against the Mira Mesa Marauders at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Christian's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Mira Mesa's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Christian turned things around against Coronado on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Islanders a 3-0 shutout.
The result came thanks to Logan Major's shutout, as he gave up just six hits and racked up eight Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Christian is 7-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 4-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Benji Molina, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mira Mesa, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over Ridgeview on Wednesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Marauders as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
Mira Mesa also got a great performance from Dylan Pham as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Pham has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Ethan Morton was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Nathaniel Widelski, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Christian's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 11-6. As for Mira Mesa, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.
Everything went Christian's way against Mira Mesa in their previous meeting back in March of 2022, as Christian made off with a 7-0 victory. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Marauders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
