Softball Recap: Islip Takes a Loss

West Babylon hit Islip with a four-run first inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Buccaneers lost 9-2 to the Eagles. The Buccaneers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

This is the second loss in a row for Islip and nudges their season record down to 4-4-1. As for West Babylon, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Islip didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-2 loss against Miller Place on the 21st. As for West Babylon, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Walt Whitman at 10:00 p.m. on May 3.
