Volleyball Recap: Cordova's Undefeated Season over After Eight Games

Cordova lost against Susitna Valley back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wolverines fell just short of the Rams by a score of 1-0. The loss was the Wolverines' first of the season.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as oneset needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. The final score came out to 27-25.

Camila Vargas paced Cordova's offense, picking up four kills. Vargas got some help from Willow Tiedeman and her seven assists. Vargas was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Having lost for the first time this season, Cordova fell to 7-1.

Cordova wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 1-0 loss against Cook Inlet Academy on the 26th. Hopefully Susitna Valley paid attention to the Wolverines' match: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Wolverines at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
