Basketball Recap: Cedar Ridge Takes a Loss

After soaring to 64 points the game before, Cedar Ridge was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They took a blow against the Orange Panthers, falling 61-21. The game marked the Fighting Red Wolves' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Cedar Ridge saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jordan Jacobson posted 11 points. Gabe Ward also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Cedar Ridge has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 13 of their last 14 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for Orange, they pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

When Cedar Ridge and Orange next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Cedar Ridge will try to stop Eastern Alamance's three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cedar Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.9 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Orange will face off against Person and their five-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
