The Lennard Longhorns will face off against the Parrish Community Bulls at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Lennard's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
Lennard is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They blew past Gateway 13-3. The Longhorns might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.
Lennard got a massive performance out of Hannah Rooks, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits Rooks has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kennedy McClain, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lennard kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Parrish Community faced Montverde Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Bulls took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The Bulls' loss signaled the end of their 13-game winning streak.
Emmaline Van Beck spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Parrish Community saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Baylee Fields, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Lennard is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Parrish Community, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-3.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lennard hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .375. However, it's not like Parrish Community struggles in that department as they've averaged .367. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
