Softball Recap: Mineral Ridge Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Mineral Ridge's offense. They fell 3-0 to the McDonald Blue Devils on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Rams' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Mineral Ridge saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddie Gerberry, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Mineral Ridge's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 14-1 and their overall record down to 15-6-1. As for McDonald, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-5.

Coming up, Mineral Ridge will head out to take on Jackson-Milton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for McDonald, they will be taking part in a tournament against Kirtland at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
