Softball Game Preview: Penns Valley Area Rams vs. Mifflinburg Wildcats

The Penns Valley Area Rams will head out on the road to take on the Mifflinburg Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Monday, Penns Valley Area made easy work of Central and carried off a 9-1 victory. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Dragons recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, while Mifflinburg put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Selinsgrove. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Seals with a sharp 10-0 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Wildcats, who have now won six matchups in a row.

Mifflinburg pushed their record up to 15-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Penns Valley Area, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.

Penns Valley Area skirted past Mifflinburg 5-4 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
