Softball Recap: Glen Ridge Finds Home Field Redemption Against Payne Tech

There's no place like home for Glen Ridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Payne Tech Lions with a sharp 11-5 victory on Monday. The Ridgers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by six runs or more this season.

Siri ?Socks? Krabbe made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Krabbe was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Anne ?Peanut? Doud was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Catie ?Chicken Nugget? Buntrock was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Glen Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Payne Tech only posted an OBP of .286.

Glen Ridge's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Payne Tech, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Glen Ridge will welcome Bloomfield at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Payne Tech, they will host East Side at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lions are facing the Red Raiders at the right time seeing as the Red Raiders are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
