Clinton scored the most points they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the St. Pauls Bulldogs by a score of 64-62. The Dark Horses haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Among those leading the charge was Tykeem Oxendine, who posted 20 points. That's the most points he has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Theophilus Setzer, who earned eight points.

Clinton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for St. Pauls, their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-13.

Clinton and St. Pauls could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. Clinton (ranked 621st) will meet Midway (ranked 246th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, St. Pauls will square off against West Bladen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday down 470 places (526 vs. 56).
