Softball Recap: Pinkerton Comes Up Short

Pinkerton dropped their record down to 11-2 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 6-0 to the Londonderry Lancers. The game marked the first time this season in which the Astros were not able to get on the board.

As for Londonderry, the win keeps they at an undefeated 18-0-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games.

For Londonderry's part, Elizabeth Kearney was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. Kearney has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Abby Austen, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Allison Chambers, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.
