Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Devin Carter and Aubrey Blanton Lead Mercy Mcauley to Victory

There's no place like home for Mercy McAuley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top against the Goshen Warriors by a score of 2-0 on Saturday.

While Mercy McAuley won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-18.

Leading Mercy McAuley to victory were Aubrey Blanton and Devin Carter. Blanton had eight digs and three aces, while Carter had ten digs and two aces. Carter is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least ten every time she's taken the court this season.

Despite the defeat, Goshen saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Savannah Chun had 11 digs and one assist.

Mercy McAuley's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Goshen, their loss dropped their record down to 2-1.

Coincidentally, Mercy McAuley and Goshen will both be playing Purcell Marian the next time they take the court. The Warriors will head out to face the Cavaliers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Wolves will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
