Recap: Elgin Comets vs. Hardin Northern Polar Bears
The Elgin Comets lost to the Hardin Northern Polar Bears back in September of 2022, but The Elgin Comets didn't allow the Hardin Northern Polar Bears the same satisfaction on Thursday. Elgin snuck past Hardin Northern with a 26-21 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Elgin.
Elgin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Quinten Harrison led the charge by rushing for 130 yards and a touchdown. Harrison is on a roll when it comes to solo tackles, as he's now made six or more in the last three games he's played. Stephen Castillo and his 82 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Elgin's victory.
Hardin Northern's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Carter Curtis, who rushed for 137 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. Curtis was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards. Nolan Hopson was another key contributor, rushing for 83 yards and a touchdown.
Elgin's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Hardin Northern, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.
Elgin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Hardin Northern is also done with their season.
