            Volleyball Recap: Guerin Catholic Golden Eagles vs. Herron Achaeans        
        
		
        
        
            Guerin Catholic waltzed into their matchup  on Thursday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. Everything went their way against the Herron Achaeans as they made off with  a  3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Golden Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
 The  3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Guerin Catholic was: they took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-14,  25-13.

 Guerin Catholic got their  victory on the backs of several key players, but it was  Claire Ducey out in front who  had 41 assists and 11  digs. Ducey is  crushing it when it comes to  assists: she's   posted at least 18 every time she's  taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Natalie Laughon, who  had 16  digs and four  aces.
Guerin Catholic's win bumped their record up to 19-5. As for Herron,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 19-9.
 Guerin Catholic and Herron should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage  in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Golden Eagles (ranked 30th) will meet Greenfield-Central (ranked 124th)  at 9:00  a.m.  on Saturday. Meanwhile,  Herron will  square off against  Eman  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday with a big rank  advantage  (175 vs. 431).
