Soccer Recap: Citrus Valley Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Beaumont, Citrus Valley was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They won by a goal and slipped past the Redlands Terriers 2-1. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but the Blackhawks were the better team in the second half.

Citrus Valley's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-7-2. As for Redlands, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12-1.

Citrus Valley and Redlands could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Citrus Valley (ranked 785th) will meet Cajon (ranked 221st) at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Redlands will square off against Yucaipa at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday down 629 places (1003 vs. 374).
