Basketball Game Preview: Liberty Christian Academy Eagles vs. Providence Classical Christian Academy Panthers + How To Watch

Liberty Christian Academy is 9-1 against Providence Classical Christian Academy since February of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Eagles will take on the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Liberty Christian Academy has six straight victories, Providence Classical Christian Academy has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Liberty Christian Academy is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Eagles blew the Crusaders out of the water with a 73-19 final score. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Eagles had established a 48-point advantage.

Phoenix Obermann was nothing short of spectacular: he shot 53% from the field en route to 20 points along with five boards and five steals. That's the most rebounds he has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Willy Mueller, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards.

Meanwhile, Providence Classical Christian Academy played a tough game on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 60-30 defeat at the hands of Heartland Christian Academy. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-11.

Owen Waldrop was Providence Classical Christian Academy's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Owen Mattull held things down on the boards with six rebounds. He took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with four assists.

Liberty Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Providence Classical Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Liberty Christian Academy has been crazy accurate this season, having nailed 48.3% of their shots per game. It's a different story for Providence Classical Christian Academy, though, as they've only made 29.5% of their field goals this season. Given Liberty Christian Academy's sizable advantage in that area, the Panthers will need to find a way to close that gap.

Liberty Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Providence Classical Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, winning 59-46. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
